More Adventures in Self-Hosting

The day after I set up my new web server, Marvin, I broke my Ubuntu install, and the USB wifi card that came with it gave out. So, today I finally got around fixing the install and moving the machine into my utility room so that it could be connected to Ethernet.

My utility room during the set-up process.

Pardon the disaster – none of the boxes (or the bicycle) are mine! I do, however, own the junk on top of the boxes. Also, the only monitor I have handy is my Acer Nitro KG241Y, which admittedly looks ridiculous in this situation.

Marvin (and the old Pi) after setup.

I retained the old Pi to see if I could use it to host a DNS server that would allow me to access my site from my home network without having to change my hosts file. As of now, I'm not sure if the Pi even still works correctly.
