A few weeks ago, Beeblebrox, the Raspberry Pi 4B that has been running this site since late 2020, gave up the ghost. Beeblebrox was the second Pi to host my site, and I felt that this time around I should opt for something beefier. The new system is Marvin, a Lenovo ThinkCentre M700 Tiny running Ubuntu Server. It was on sale refurbished from Best Buy and boasts an i5 and 16GB of RAM, up from Beeblebrox's 4GB.
Just as Beeeblebrox was named after Zaphod Beeblebrox, the galactic president from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Marvin is named after Marvin the Paranoid Android from the same series, with whom I increasingly empathize. I hope Marvin enjoys a long and prosperous tenure as my web server.
